The "Okie" test for speaker damage is done by pushing on the cone and listening closely. Take the speaker and GENTLY press down on the cone with two fingers to make it travel about 1/2 inch or so. If you can hear a faint scraping or scratching sound as the cone travels, it very likeley means that the voicecoil assembly is warped or otherwise damaged.
