| Jim | Re: mixing Ohms ratings/cabs Thanks PBG! Maybe you're right; it's parallel. You know, just going in one cab then out and moving on to the next input jack on the other. My Carvin R600 head I think handles as little as 2ohms (I'll verify tonight). My real concern is power lose due to resistance. Right now I have lows going to the 4-10's and 1-18, in that order. I was concerned that maybe what's coming out and subsequently going back in to the 1-18 is a loss of wattage'power from the amp cause it's working too hard on the 4-10 8ohm load? So I thought maybe if you connect them differently there might be a way to get better performance. It seems that the 1-18 is "working" more than the 4-10's which again, are connected (in parrallel as you said). By working I mean the cone's moving more. In other words: 1. Connection recommendations that I suppose considers that Ohms formula for connecting cabs with different ratings? 2. In my case, would simply having all cab's rated at 4 ohms be better than having 8 & 4 ohm loads? I also run a 2-10 at 4 ohms for highs. |
