Gil, I don't know about that. Trainwreck I tend to
think the EXACT opposite.

Yes, a Trainwreck and do the "British" thing, but it
can also sound bluesy and tweedy, acoustic clean, and
Marshally. Simply adjusting the volume knob will
allow ALL these sounds.

Brian Adams used Trainwrecks for some of his recorded stuff (pop music), Metallica used them on Re-Load, and BB and
the Stingers used them on their "1st Blues Band on Venus" CD.

The BB CD covers ALOT in musicality and guitar sounds. I'll just name a few known musicians (guitar tone-wise) that really seemed to stand out and be noticable:

Hendrix (bell-like rhythms) and SRV (stingy blues leads)
Vai (rhythm licks) and Satriani (leads)
EJ (violin tones)

Ken Fischer (oh boy, here we go again!) sent me various
cuts and sound pages of his various amps. ASHTONISHING!

The sound went anywhere from very acoustic sounding to
heavy overdrive.

When I played a K&M (I know it's NOT a Dumble, but it's
the closest I'll come), it could NOT do all these sounds.

Sure the K&M (again, not a Dumble) got a KILLER distorted
lead tone, but the clean sound was rather cold.
