| Nate S. | Re: Can caps, star grounding, and hum Thanks, I'm getting to this point now. I completely rewired the ground bus to be technically correct, and while it did clean up many of the other noises the real problem one is still there. I brought it to work today so after 5:00 I'll hook it up to the scope and see what this hideous noise looks like. I can measure it with my multimeter at 200mV! thats a s### load of noise. It doesn't seem to matter what I do from the input jack to the socket (only the length of one short resistor), heck I've even unhooked it with no change. Depending on the results of the scope I may try to power this tube from the supply from another amp and/or try DC on just that tubes filaments. If that doesn't get me there I have no idea what to do. |
