| Andrew | Re: Kinman/DiMarzio? Hey Doc, You essentially have the story straight as far as I can tell. Your question: >>>Now what would a defending lawyer actually have to do? Show up, present the valid patent in court, then what else? I mean, couldn't any NY registered attorney perform the task, on a contingency basis?<<< Problem is, what does a NYC mouthpiece charge? Chris Kinman is a everyday sort of guy, not rich... The company is small. You ring up, chances are you get Chris himself (twice I've spoken to Chris, twice to Charles. Great blokes.) He's on the other side of the world from NYC. A $1/4M sounds like it might be an overestimate, maybe; but DiMarzio might have decided to drag the case on for as long as possible, to hurt Kinman the most they could, win or lose. The way I see it, DiMarzio could have afforded to lose. Kinman couldn't have afforded to win. My guess is that DiMarzio knew that. Cheers Andrew |
