the 100 ohm resistors make a centre-tapped  
ground reference for the filament circuit,  
for PT's that have no centre tap on  
the filament winding.  
 
Sometimes you will see a pot there instead,  
with the wiper connected to ground... the  
pot is adjusted for minimum hum.
