Basically, when the pot is switched in I've got some high gain stuff going on in earlier stages, so the pot is a way to manage the extra gain and balance the output level of the high gain setting with the clean setting. It will be functioning more like a "trim" than a volume control since there is a post driver master. And if it doesn't work, well, then I'll know not to do that! Thanks. SteveR
