| SteveR | Volume pots When using a pot as a volume control, what's the difference between using it as a voltage divider versus simply a variable resistor to ground? I understand that the voltage divider is the more common and probably more "correct" way to do it. The variable resistor approach will change the load impedance of the previous stage, but I don't know what the implications of this are. Basically, I want to switch in a volume control and only have a single pole switch available (the other pole of a dpdt is already being used), so I can only switch the pot to ground in parallel. Thanks SteveR |
