pumpstein | Tropical Demon Fowl attacks small steel band Here's one for you... I played for a few years with a local steel drum band, The Toucans. These guys are a very well-established Seattle band who worked hard and long to build a rep. They applied for trademark registration of their name under the recorded music class, and were effectively blocked by Kellogg's, who claimed that their revenues were threatened due to the fact that they at one time, (the 60's?) issued those flimsy plastic 45's that you would cut out of the back of the box. God knows what kind of souless marketing tripe they put on the things. Kellogs basically just out-spent the little guys. No one has cried uncle, but this particular little bit of "healthy competition" has already been in dispute for 10 years. Check it out: http://www.blarg.net/~toucans/LegalIndex.html - P |
