One nice thing to try is make one channel "blackface," with treble and bass controls and cathode bypass caps on both halves of the 12AX7, and the other channel "tweed," with only one bypassed cathode and no tone controls. This lets you go from "scooped-mid blackface clean" to "tweed grind" with just a spdt sw. Or run the guitar signal into both at the same time and blend with the volumes.
