If you're a bit new to this, which I think you said you were, YOU MUST DISCHARGE THE FILTER CAPS BEFORE WORKING ON THE AMP. Get a few books: 1) Torres's "Inside Tube Amps". Torres does not get, much respect, and there are a number of errors in his book, but for the beginner, this book is an EXCELLENT introduction - it explains things in "plain" English. 2) Gerald Weber's 1st book (I forget what it's called). Weber doesn't get much respect, either, but his book has some good ideas. Or, you can have a tech do it. But it's nice to learn this for yourself. Proceed with CAUTION! Mook
