| Whit | Re: Variabke Capacitors? ... Hey Steve, steal away, free thunder is what this BBS is all about. The variable cap in question is a 0 to 500pf unit available from Antique Electronic Supply www.tubesandmore.com part# C-V500-X3, $9.95 ... one of those meshing metal plate things you see in am/fm radios. BTW, Barbours Wah/Fuzz circuit is pretty cool, I liked it, but as with most of my projects, the life expectancy is about 6 months before they "need" to be scavenged in support of the next crazy idea... Also, Barbour does some elaborate gears and parts mechanism to make the pedal-to-variable-cap connections, but I did just fine by pilfering an old CryBaby (not a vintage one). Just ripped the pot in the crybaby apart down to the shaft, cut a hole in the Wah body, and attached it to the vari-cap shaft with some plastic tubing and a couple of hose clamps. Ugly but functional... ... Whit ... Whit |
