You know Terry I've seen about three different variations now that you mention it. I though I was just getting some that were "one offs" or something.

Most of them that I've seen are like this. I like these the best actually. They are super easy to make into a Marshall or some other great sounding amp.

I'm a fan of the Celestion Vintage 30's or the Greenbacks. What are you using? I usually "plexi-ize" the YBA-1's and sell them. They make a great amp and have the tone of a plexi for a fraction of the cost. Actually now that I think about it, some were cathode biased and some were fixed bias.  
 
Whoever replaced the 4 Meg pots with 1 Meg pots was most likely trying to get closer to a Marshall. It's a good idea!  
So you want to change it to a plexi? Let us know Troy
