I had a look at it because he guessed it had a speaker out. It certainly sounded like it, but when we got the back off, one of the speakers was out of phase, and became really quiet compared to the others. It had clearly been like it from new, as the solder was original. Now I've never tried to replicate the situation, but maybe I should see what it sounds like in a 4 x 12 cabinet. The difference has got to be noticable, hasn't it? Back then we didn't have a clue what a rare and valuable thing it was going to be!
