If yours has the shared cathode resistor and cap on the first gain stage, split it like the later models, but use a 1.5 k instead of the more common 2.7 k on the lead channel. Also you might want to try replacing the 100k plate resistor on the first gain with a 220k. Changing the neg. feedback resistor with a 100k will give more gain too.
