I don’t think it’s normal for an amp that was originally designed as a cathode biased amp as they are running closer to class A. Your converted Marshall is probable suffering from crossover distortion caused by bias shift (Check my post above). You probably won’t be able to get rid of it by increasing the bias current without over dissipating the tubes.
