Wanted more drive from the whole amp, and thought this might be the culprit, but the amp just came with really clean power tubes. I put a pair of Sovtek power tubes in it, and the 12ax7LPS really made the sound a lot richer when I subbed it in for the wxt+ I had in there. Really nice woody clean tone, rich when overdriven, but this may just be the sound of the amp. Definitely noticed an improvement in tone when I put it in though. Nice top end, not harsh at all, just right. Not much of a gain difference as far as I can tell between the LPS and the wxt+ I had in there before. I don't know how much more they are, but definitely worth a listen if you can get your hands on some.
