| John Stokes | Re: SF Super Reverb The non MV models are the ones to get. Since you say it's already been re-capped, just then use good tubes and have it properly biased. The cleanest current production 6L6 is probably the JJ/Tesla. You can get those from Ned and LV. If you want NOS, the Philips 7581A will have the most clean headroom of anything. You might consider having the thing BF modded, it gives them a bit more character and spank. If yours have Oxford ceramic speakers, those are none too great. A set if reissue Jensen C10Qs might work wonders. Whatever you do, don't let a hack-butcher do a bunch of BS mods. |
