I built one for a five band e.q.- nice! I assumme you are disagreeing a bit with having a class B op-amp that may have a small amount of cross-over distortion. Though I have no problem putting in solidstate, I am reluctant of op-amp I.C.'s. -Eth P.S. I would be interested in the design of your parametric midrange set up! sounds cool!
