The safest, most reliable method of checking output tube current is a) remove a plate lead and insert a current measuring multimeter, or B) (Best) Remove cathode jumper to ground (pins 1 and or 8), and insert a 1 ohm 2-watt resistor (solder in permanently), and measure across it. 50 mv = 50 ma etc. Now, add a second bias pot and your in business.
