There's a lot more gain in a typical guitar amp (input is millivolts, a guitar pickup, and output is a awe-inspiring deafening racket) than in a hifi power amp and there is a likelihood of some hum present in the pickup signal to begin with, so maybe that is why there is more attention paid, because the problem is harder? A phono preamp is about the highest gain hifi component and in these, hum and noise have to be chased pretty religiously to get good results.  
Also the tube poweramp sits out in your living room, so you have to make it look nice or your wife will "give input" - trust me on this one.
