I also put in a 6.8k resistor in parallel with the 39k (R3). this reduces the gain of the op amp and gives a more useable range of distortion IMHO. Also looking at the schematic, I realized the Cream machine has a parallel effects loop! Use the Tube out for a send and the Instrument out for the return. Perfect for a reverb or delay unit.
