Yeah, that high dissipation will eat sovtek 6V6s. You need a good ol' RCA to hold up for any length of time.  
 
 
 
I usually put in a slightly larger cathode resistor than the stock 470R, around 520R or so, 5watt wirewound. And I install a 1k or 1.5k series screen grid resistor.  
 
 
 
These mods will allow you to run a wider range of 6V6s, even a sovtek.
