At the very least you'll get an adjustable bias instead of the bias balance. I followed Weber's instructions on my Bandmaster Reverb and my subjective impression was that it improved the tone. However, without the benefit of an instantaneous A/B comparison (obviously impossible) I can't say that what I heard wasn't from my expectations rather than the actual changes.
