"Trace, Thay did make a 4 input with the old style box and also the circuit bord is the same for both amps, just move some wires around.A lot of pople I know call the amps from 76 up to the 800's "J.M.P's" (ie. 4 input JMP / master vol JMP)"

It can be confussing since some people call those amps JMP's and this sort of means one thing to one person and another thing to the another person! (ha, ha)

Now isn't the circuit the same in the "JMP's" from 76-80? I've only seem three and they were the same except for the plate voltages.

The 4-input (plexi-style) JCM800's I've seen (only two so far) had a few different parts but where basically the same design except the plate voltages on these were a lot higher than the plexi's or the metal faced models of the early 70's. You said they can sound the same as the plexi's...what do you do to get them to sound the same?

Thanks!!
