|Steve Jones||Backpedaling now -- mixing metals?|
I went out last night and bought some sheet aluminum and a piece of angle iron to bend it around and I thought to myself, what the heck am I doing?
I'm now considering R.G.'s original tip to just put a back panel on the stock chassis. I may go a bit further and enclose the sides of the stock chassis as well for strength.
This may seem like a stupid question, but is it ok to use aluminum to add a back and sides to what seems to be a steel chassis? That is, is there any sort of galvanic effect I should worry about or any other considerations? I know in electrical wiring (house wiring that is) you shouldn't connect copper and aluminum wiring together.
