This makes sense...I have a '75-'76 2204 that is "boxed in an "old-style" PLEXI-(large-box), large logo, 2 inputs, & "JMP" stamped on left of bat-toggles...chassis is actually puched-out for 4 inputs...BUT... the control panel plating covers 2 of them...BTW...This particular Marshall box is signed by JIM MARSHALL himself! (in pencil!)...this model has been defined to me as "a transitional Marshall"?...it has the LOWER VDC on plates...= 383vdc...I have "modified-front-end" to "1987 specs...Frank.
