Magnatone estey "control panel lamp"

Rob B.	Magnatone estey "control panel lamp" I am finishing up restoring a Magnatone Estey MP4 bass amp head. 2 X EL34. A nice smooth sounding but low powered head. The chassis is 24" long and any mod known to human kind could fit in it. The amp does not have a pilot light, it has a long strip above the controls that I am guessing is suppose to glow. It even has a dimmer control on the front panel to control brightness. The strip does not work (no glow you might say). The circuit is simple, about 190 volts AC goes to a potentiometer that drops the voltage to between 12 and 20 volts AC. Does anyone know anything about this strip? Is there a replacement available or should I get out the old drill and install a pilot light? Thanks for your help in advance.
