Speed is correct. The Master Volume models came about in 1976 which is also when the metal faced 4-input models were discontinued. The JCM800 line was introduced in 1976 actually. They used alot of the older chassis and the piping what the thicker white and it hink they still had JMP stamped on the front of the chassis although these were 2203/2204 models with different trannies and what not.  
 
 
 
I think the MV's between 76-80 sounded better in my opinion. Also there is a JCM800 4-input model that was made up untill 1990. It sounds pretty horrible!!! It's the same circuit with a modern PCB and enimic tranny. I would stany away from these if you see any.
