@@@ I think it sounds like the JCM800 2205 series to me. I think (not sure) that the 2205 came first. It' still sounds "buzzy" to me to be honest. I've just never been a fan of diode clipping like that is all. I like to roll my guitar's volume knob down and get a nice clean tone and you really can't (in my opinion) with a diode clipping circuit. it's get's muddy and still is pretty distorted which is most likely why thay came up with channel switching for a "clean" channel. That's just speculation on my part though.

"Also what about the 30th anniversary Marshall - the one with 300 switches and half a million knobs :)?"

Ha, ha...yeh, they did have A LOT of knobs on there! I think they sound more 900'ish to my ears. These are harder to find now and I've only seen two myself.

"And their midi preamp - can you get some good tones when hooked to a nice tube power amp? "

Another amp tech that lives about a hour away was just up here Thursday night and we were talking about it. It sounds very "steely" or "metal" like to my ears. You may like all these models you've mentioned but they just aren't for me is all. Try them out and see of they stike your fancy.
