He told me they were stock Super leads cranked loud with EL34's. They also used AKG 414's, Sennheiser 421's, and Shure 57's on the cabinets. The 414 mics can DEFINATELY make an EL34 based amp sound like that. My friend also said that Mutt used some REALLY odd miking techniques to record the drums as well. For what ever it's worth; Trace
