| ADM | Re: 2 x 6v6 Design Advice The amp has a 325-0-325 transformer, diode rectification, and no choke - so B+ is going to be too high ~450 volts I believe. It's an old amp head (it says Russell on it, I was told that they were made by a former Guess Who roadie but I digress), so I would rather not drop too much money on this thing - but I don't see why such a high B+ was used for a 6v6 amp. I'm worried I'll have to bias it so cold to keep the tubes disipation in check that it will sound pretty sterile. |
