| ADM | 2 x 6v6 Design Advice I've got an old amp head I'm using as a platform for a Princeton/Tremolux sort of thing. I have 2 12ax7's to play with, so I was wondering what is recommended - having 3 gain stages and then a split load phase inverter (Princeton-like) or have 2 gain stages and then a long-tailed pair type of phase inverter? Initially I plan to cathode bias it, but eventually I'll make it switchable to fixed bias. For the tone controls I have the option of having the standard bass, mid, treble or I could just have bass and treble and have a presence control in a feedback loop. Anyone have any suggestions on this? Andrew. |
