Re: Hammond 1620 OT
I've got a Hammond 1620 OT, which is rated for 20 watts (6,600 ohm

CT primary).

I'm going to use it for a pair of 6V6s, but what whould happen if I used

a pair of EL34s, 6L6s, or KT66s?

*** It will work fine if and even better if you use cathode bias. ***

Could this small OT take to load? From a tone/sound and safety

perspective, do I have anything to worry about?

*** Not really... for guitar work, using a pair of 6L6 tubes, the 1620 is close to 35w-40w Pro Reverb in power handling. ***
