Outside of the mounting being different, is there any reason a Super Reverb PT wouldn't do nicely for a 50W Plexi?  
 
You'd have the option of a tube rectifier and plenty of filament current capacity. They're readily available from several sources. The last one I bought was $90 delivered and puts out 475V with a chinese 5AR4.
