I was just talking about the brownface fender trem and replying to your post made me wonder if you could, instead of mixing the frequeny split signals before the PI, send each signal to its own power amp. I don't know if this would work. It's a pretty touchy circuit, and I don't know how frequency limited or isolated each signal would be. Otherwise (also to Eric), you could also set one power section up with lower B+ and a smaller bypass cap (or no bypass cap). You could set up a high gain distortion preamp on this one and a clean preamp to the other. You could eek out a bit more clean headroom from the "clean" power section by using fixed bias. Make it a channel switcher or use an ABY switch. steveR
