dpcoyle | Re: Build a Bass amp? Tube Q: I got about 60 watts out of 2 6550's into the 60 watt UL Hammond xfmr and was very happy with it for practice. For clubs I would think two pair a minimum, and the 120 W xfmr. I use my crown CE 2000 with a tube preamp at gigs cause the show has to go on, and I'm not rich enough to bring two 300W tube amps. Also, IMO a 6SN7 is another good choice for a driver. Dan |
