It's a bit on the "odd" side but it sounds pretty cool and in my opinion it's a more "useable" or I should say versatile amp. You can get clean and super dirty all with your guitar's volume knob (something you can't do with the other scheo's).

"And for the record, laughed my ass off--saw that 470K/470K before the second stage and all I could think of was, "Who's your Daddy????"."

HA, HA...well "Daddy" would hae bypassed one of those 470K's with a 470pF cap!!! :D As odd as it is, I did try that appoach and didn't care for it much. I ended up with the 470K's mostly because it sounded the best. I didn't bypass the one because the amp already has more than enough top-end as well as gain.

I'm not sure how many amps have that type of network right after the volume like that but it does sound good (surprised me at first ha, ha). I questioned it at first and as I thought about it I realized I was thinking too much!! (ha, ha) My theory is "Just try it because you'll waste about 30 seconds of your life and then you'll know if you do or don't like it."

"But it's great, most haven't really looked outside the box, or reported thier findings. Thank you for your effort."

It was my pleasure Bill and I always like to help whenever I can.

"I've kept all my experiments mostly in the box, trying to think of how KF would do it, and seeing if I can stumble on it. so far, all I do is stumble. Found a couple that sound decent, some even great--but nothing that seems to come close to that flexible Wreck sound I keep hearing about."

It's all about being able to roll your guitar's volume pot down and get a beautiful clean tone. I like the OEI OT for this A LOT. It's hard to beat and it gives you the sweetest clean tone this way. There's plenty of gain in the design I came up with so people will not be hurtin' for gain! (ha, ha)
