Peter S | Re: Trace, please post your results. Well, I tried the mods I suggested in my last post. YUK> the amp lost some dynamics. I hate fuzzy uncontrolable distortion on my lead sound. I want to be able to open the amp all the way up and use picking technique to get varying degrees of distortion. I expect single notes and chords to ring like a bell with clarity and definition and the distortion to be totally controllable with my fingers. Maybe I'm just spoiled from the K-50s, but I'm absolutely certain that I remember being able to do all of this with a real Trainwreck that I played through several years ago. Next I'm going to abort my 5F6/Vox preamp and tone stack and go back to Steve's schematics and pick off a version of the T E to try. I'll keep the Vox style PI for starters. Maybe with the new trannies and some TLC, I can get the dynamic sound I'm looking for out of it. Any suggestions as to which schematic version to try? Thanks. Peter |
