I've goofed about (I emailed you on it) and I've got the circuit where I can use a .002 to .004 coupling cap (where is in the schematic). I've done a few changes (maybe several--ha, ha). It sounds pretty darn good now but I don't think you can call it it a Trainwreck anymore!! (ha, ha)  
 
I've changed bypass cap values as well as some circuit changes and added some other things. I kept the post PI MV so I could test and see how much preamp gain there was (lord knows people will end up using or needing a master at some point--ha, ha) and it sounds very good as a non-master or master volume amp. The harmonic content is still there but the amp doesn't break up as early as it did (which to me is a good thing) Again, it's not a Trainwreck at all but it's cool.  
 
I think Ken might have based it on a plexi with a cleaner (Vox-ish PI) and a few twists but that's my gut feeling talking (not fact)
