Of course it isn't built anywhere near as good as a SLO or X88r, but it does have that SLO preamp sound. I'm using through an old Marshall 50w stereo power amp with EL34 tubes, I may switch it to 6L6 to get closer to the SLO power amp sound, as the SLO has 6l6, and EL34's sound a little too squishy and midrangey.
