Was gonna do a "Hood amp," when I ran across this rat PA I had collecting dust under my workbench; noticed it was set up with 2X 2N3055's, like the Hood in Tonnes of Tone. Did a quick and dirty tear down of the PA's SS front end and tried various tube preamp styles. My PA was rated 30 W output, which is what I think KOC's is good for when using 2X 2N3055's. Opened up a Bogen BPA 60 (also collecting dust) , rated @ 60 watts and set with 2X 2N3055's and an OT the size of a bassman.....should make a nice little bass or acoustic guitar amp....now if I can locate a Sams for this thing.
