Any luck with building hybrid Tube/SS amps? hi,   just putting the finishing touches on a hybrid I put together out of a formerly nasty SS PA amp. Unfortunately, don't have the power section schematics; gotta get ambitious and try to trace it out. Uses 2X 2N 3055's. With a tube multi stage front end, it's not all that bad, once I got the signal voltage up to reasonable levels.     Anyone else build hybrid amps? Why do most of the commercial ones sound so bad? I used to have a KMD (SS front end with 2X 6L6) that was a dog unless I drove the hell out of it...one reason I'm sure it crashed a while back.   cya   Jon
