One correction (or a different opninion), if you dont mind, regarding Surf music:  
Being a surf guitarist in a surf band, and knowing that the ultimate surf rig is a blonde dual Showman with a 2X15 caninet, I would have to say that a closed back cabinet is a must for real surf music (the aggressive kind that usually did not make it to tape in the old days).
