I agree on all counts. My first amp was a champ clone wired on terminal strips, it seemed to take forever to finish. The next amp I built was one of Bruce Collins' Soulkicker Jr. amps (basically a heavily-modified Tweed Princeton) which was a slightly more complex circuit, but it took me one third the time to wire as I used an eyelet board. I've been sold on them ever since.  
 
I do like the way turret boards *look*. But I'm pretty well entrenched in using eyelet boards.  
 
As far as duribility goes, I don't play out, my amps sit in the basement, so it really isn't an issue for me :)
