I'd put off buying a band saw until
you have more of the basic bases covered.

Band saws can do a lot of nice things,
but many of them have to do with cutting
curves, which your average guitar amp
builder seldom does. You "can" rip
boards, etc. with them but it's less
than ideal. The throat depth limits
the length or width of cut you can
make, and the blade tends to wander
unless the tool is perfectly adjusted,
which you have to do frequently.

If I were buying one power woodworking
tool, I'd go for the table saw. It's the
most versatile thing you'll ever buy.
Get the best one you can afford - it'll
last a long time in occasional use.

Then I'd save up for a drill, router, and
belt sander in that order. You can do
a lot with that setup and a few good
hand tools. A sabre saw is nice, but
you can do without it if you're just
cutting circles.
