| Keith | Ampeg R-12-R clone... nitpicking q's This latest project is basically together, but I have a few questions, if anyone would be kind enough to respond, it would really help. In the Ampeg schematic, the CT of the 6.3V heater supply is connected to the cathodes of the two 6V6s. However, when connected like this, I measure 12V across the heater lugs on the socket. The tranny originally powered two 6L6s, so it should be a 6V secondary, not 12V. Should I be measuring from one pin to ground, or am I measuring correctly, or am I going nuts? Why does the CT on this secondary connect to the cathodes on the power tubes? Is this necessary? Thanks in advance!! Keith |
