Alex | Transistor question... OK...I'm a dumbass... The pin with the arrow is always the emitter, right? Under this ASSumption, I ran into a snag with my Tycho Octavia circuit. It seems Q1 (in my case, an MPS-A18) works when I put it in backwards. If I put it in as the schematic says, it lets out a high pitched squeal. I tried the exact same thing with a 2N5088 and it works when it is done the reverse of the schematic. I haven't used either of these transistors before. Were the both reversed biased out of the box?
