I've found a shadetree way is to use a dvom meter, and hook the neg to the base (ohms reading)and than check the emitter and than the collector usually if you have a good meter ,if the trans is good they both will read the same. This can work in the circuit also, I have found that I have burnt many germaniums even trying to be careful!! |
