middle transistor gets hot

chuck	middle transistor gets hot thanks for the tip pete, seems like only the middle transistor (of 3) is getting hot. Problem is, i checked and checked the wireing and its correct. Ive got E connected straight to ground, unless im reading the schematic wrong and it connects to "b" of itself and a 100k resistor, which doesn't sound right. I used 2N388A's which required me to reverse all the electros and switch the power from - to +. I wasn't supposed to change the orientation of the transistors, was I. I used sockets, so i guess i could reverse them to see what happens, but i didn't want to before asking in case i might hurt something. also, there are no shorts, and the sockets are making contact b/w the board and leads. any ideas appreciated.. thanks again! chuck
